In every seat, you will be encouraged to ask questions and to turn to the relevant partner and other lawyers for support. Trainees are given responsibility for their own files and are encouraged to attend client meetings with other lawyers and also meet clients individually. Where relevant, you will be given the opportunity to undertake advocacy at the Employment Tribunal and the County Court and to give oral presentations to clients. You will be invited to attend Court hearings (including those at the Court of Appeal), negotiation meetings etc which other lawyers are attending. Trainees are given the opportunity to visit Laytons’ other offices and they are encouraged to feel part of the national firm. You will be actively involved in marketing and you will be invited to participate in events such as seminars, forums, client lunches and charitable and sports events.

You will be made to feel a valued part of each team that you work in. Your efforts will be appreciated and acknowledged. Everyone, from the Chief Executive Partner across the firm takes the time to thank you personally when deserved.

At Laytons our aim is that you are treated as valued members of the team.  You will be given a real work-load, real responsibility and you will be made to feel valued and appreciated.
