Ensuring fair dismissals don't become unfair

Employment Law Breakfast Briefing

26 September 2017
2 More London Riverside

Following the recent landmark Supreme Court decision in R (on the application of UNISON) v Lord Chancellor [2017], in which Employment Tribunal Fees were held to be unlawful, it is widely expected that employers will see an increase in Employment Tribunal claims.

We therefore thought it timely to run a breakfast briefing to provide employers with some practical tips on how best to ensure disciplinary matters are dealt with fairly and lawfully - so that if they are challenged, they can be successfully defended.

The briefing will cover:

  • a refresher on the essentials for a fair dismissal
  • an overview of recent developments in case law
  • practical tips for managing disciplinary processes

The session is aimed primarily at HR professionals or, indeed, anyone with HR or line management responsibilities within your organisation.

It will also provide a great opportunity to network with fellow professionals and meet Laytons’ newly expanded Employment team.
