Michael is the Managing Partner CEO and is responsible for the management of the firm and overseeing its strategic growth.
Having completed his MBA at Imperial College in 2015 he went on to be involved in the implementation of strategic changes at his previous firm where, since 2020, he acted as the managing partner (with responsibility for strategy implementation).
During the last nine years he has proved to be effective in growing a corporate commercial department and leading his previous firm through numerous lockdowns and the COVID 19 pandemic.
Michael’s management style is personable, flexible and adaptable.
Whilst Michael will focus his time on management rather than transactional work he will be utilising his considerable knowledge and experience to benefit all of Laytons ETL clients strategically and practically going forward as and when needed.
He is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer having worked in private practice and in-house organisations with both national and international focus for the last 23 years.
As a corporate commercial lawyer he is both practical and commercial in his approach and has worked in a variety of sectors, particularly tech, life sciences and natural resources, on a wide variety of transactions, including listings, IPOs, M&A, bond issues, reverse takeovers, schemes of arrangement, share capital reductions, private placements and subscription agreements as well as acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, corporate finance, lending, re-financings and reorganisations.
