Laytons ETL's October Highlights

As we reach the end of October, it’s time to reflect on the significant achievements and contributions of Laytons ETL over the last month. It’s been a busy month filled with international conferences, knowledge sharing and team socials!

We celebrated several developments in October.

Joanne Daly has taken on the role of Business Operations Manager, and Lisa Haggett has been promoted to Digital & Marketing Executive!

Earlier this month we welcomed Jeremy Lederman to Laytons ETL as a Partner in the Disputes Team. He has joined with a wealth of experience and has slotted into the Laytons team perfectly!

Laytons ETL were recognised in the The Legal 500 (Legalease)’s ‘Firms to Watch’ for 2024! Both our Commercial Contracts and Commercial Litigation work have been celebrated in the Legal 500’s recent guide, highlighting the best up-and-coming firms and practices nationwide. Congratulations to the entire commercial team; in particular to Johnathan Rees and Geraint Thomas for their direct recognition.

We had Assured Partners come in to talk to the Corporate & Commercial team about M&A insurance and current market trends. It was a very informative presentation with a great deal of discussion and Q&A, followed by some networking drinks.

International Insights

Michael (Agi) Kashis, John Abbott, Liza Zucconi and Victoria Welsh attended the ETL GLOBAL Conference in Berlin. They had the opportunity to meet many colleagues in other firms and countries, making meaningful connections. It was a conference filled with excellent presenters giving resources and inspiration, along with great moderators and the opportunity to meet the newest ETL member firms!

Nicholas Lakeland, Victoria Brockley and Honey Dave attended the Autumn IPG Conference in Madrid. There was a mix of interesting panel discussions dedicated to wide ranging topics in relation to sustainability and sports law with great speakers, intense networking, and memorable cultural activities. They all now look forward to the Spring Conference in Casablanca in April 2024!

Paddy Kelly, Daniel Oldfield and Rebekah Parker attended the Libralex Conference in Lisbon, hosted by GDP Advogados. Across the two days there were presentations from various professionals. Dinners and a sailing trip on the Tagus provided excellent opportunities for networking with friends and colleagues. We look forward to 2024’s meetings in Puebla, Berlin and Budapest!

Kloarba Dema and Eleaner Cross from our Private Client team attended an all-day conference presented by Professional Conferences, covering Wills, Probate and the Advising the Elderly Update 2023 at the Kensington Town Hall. There have been some recent developments surrounding Private Client for which there will be upcoming articles and blogs from the Private Client team to look forward to.

Laytons ETL out and about

Jeremy Lederman and Honey Dave attended the Asian-Jewish Business Network Event. The event allowed professionals to build meaningful relationships in a fun and relaxed environment.

Victoria Brockley and Robert MacGinn attended an invitation only keynote by Gay Times media brand, which was an energising event, and very exciting to hear all their plans going forward.

The Real Estate team went to Swingers for an evening of mini golf! This was a great opportunity for the team to relax together outside of the office.

We then rounded the month off with our team social at The Anthologist! It was a fantastic evening and a great chance for everyone to get together.

October has been a busy month for everyone at Laytons ETL! It’s great to reflect on the achievements and progression we make as a firm, as we head into what is already looking like a jam-packed November!
