AI Image Wars: the Battle over Copyright Images Reaches the Courts
Photo licensing agency Getty Images is suing Stability AI for copyright infringement. The news comes after three artists filed papers in the US District Court of California allege that UK company Stability AI (and Ors), which uses artificial intelligence to generate images, “downloaded or otherwise copied billions of copyrighted images without permission”, to create its image generator software product Stable Diffusion.

New government plans to make flexible working the default
Flexible working practices have come to the fore during the Covid-19 Pandemic but until this week there has still been a very rigid framework for employees to be able to request working flexibly. A consultation entitled Making Flexible Working the Default was initiated by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in 2021 and the results have been published on 5 December 2022.
