Laytons ETL named London team of the year at Modern Law Private Client Awards

The Private Wealth & Philanthropy team has been named “Private Client Team of the Year - London” at the 2026 Modern Law Private Client Awards.

Operated by Modern Law magazine, with a panel of judges drawn from across the legal and estate planning professions, the awards recognise individuals, teams and firms that demonstrate excellence in terms of expertise, service and innovation.

This year’s winners were announced at a ceremony at Coombe Abbey, Coventry on Wednesday 1 July.

Laytons ETL’s winning entry focused on its high-value, complex and international caseload, including a number of seven and eight-figure matters involving cross-border tax planning, inheritance tax mitigation, succession planning and estate administration.

In addition to estate planning and administration, the Team has a particular specialism in Philanthropy, particularly in respect of charity formation and registration.

Simrun Garcha, Head of Private Wealth & Philanthropy, said, “This award provides welcome recognition for the work done by our team of committed, resourceful professionals whose expertise is second-to-none and I am grateful to the judges for their appreciation of the quality of the work we carry out on a daily basis.

I would like to congratulate, in particular, my colleagues Ian Burman, Kloarba Dema, Emma Davies, Eleaner Cross and Paulette Johnson, who can be rightly proud of this accolade, which is testament to their hard work, knowledge, creativity and unswerving commitment to client care.”
